Mapping out the major inequalities in South African education system
DynaMundo assisted the public university of University College London to map out inequalities among performance of students attending schools in different quintiles in basic education in South Africa. DynaMundo needed to identify the main stakeholders and map an initial set of feedback loops to clarify the problem.
DynaMundo led a participatory group model-building session and delivered a report using systems thinking and system dynamics to determine the extent to which various factors, including resource and teacher allocation and district support, impact inequality in the education system.
The goal is to continue workshops with additional stakeholders, including representatives from the university, teachers, subject advisors, and district manager.
